Common questions
Answers before you have to ask for them.
These are the questions people ask before they commit — including the awkward ones about leaving, ownership, and what we will not do. Better you read them now than find out later.
What sort of businesses is this for?
Australian service businesses — trades, clinics, consultants, anyone whose customers need to understand the work and then pick up the phone. It works best if about 5 pages covers what you do, your content changes monthly at most, and you are happy to sort things out by email. If you need to sell online, take logins, publish every week, or you want someone running SEO for you, this is the wrong service and we will say so.
What do I get for A$2,200?
Up to 5 pages, up to 2,500 words written for you from your questionnaire, a contact or quote form that emails you, links to anything you already use, proper search setup, up to 10 redirects from your old site, one round of changes after you have seen it, your domain connected, and the whole thing launched and checked. Anything that does not work the way we agreed gets fixed free for the first 30 days.
Why do I have to pay monthly?
Because we stay responsible for your site working. The A$129 a month covers hosting, pushing updates, watching for outages, monthly form testing, security patching, backups, email support, and a small allowance for changes. You are paying for someone to be on the hook, not for a set number of hours — so in a quiet month you will not hear from us, and that is the point.
Can I edit the website myself?
No, and that is deliberate. There is no login and no page builder to learn. You email us what you want changed and we do it — up to 20 minutes a month is included, and anything bigger gets a price before we start. If several people at your end need to post updates themselves, you want a different kind of website.
Do you use WordPress?
No. We build with Astro and look after it ourselves, which is why your site will not need a plugin update at 11pm on a Sunday. If you specifically need WordPress — because your marketing person knows it, or your industry expects it — we are not the right fit, and we will tell you that rather than talk you out of it.
Do you do SEO?
We do the technical part, as part of the build: page titles and descriptions, clean HTML, a sitemap, the right structured data, and up to 10 redirects so you do not lose what you have. What we do not sell is the monthly retainer after it — keyword campaigns, backlinks, content calendars, rank reports — or any promise about where you will show up.
Will this get me more customers?
It will make it easy for someone who has already found you to understand your work and get in touch, and it will stop you losing the ones who would have bounced off a slow or confusing site. Whether the phone rings more depends on your pricing, your reputation, your area, and how people find you in the first place — none of which we control. We will not promise you rankings, traffic, leads, or revenue, and you should be wary of anyone who does.
How long does it take?
You should see your site within about 7 business days of sending back a complete questionnaire, and be live within 10-15 business days. The clock starts when we have your answers, your photos, and any access we need — not when you pay the deposit. If you take a fortnight to send photos or your domain host is slow, those dates move.
Do we need to have a call first?
No. There is no discovery call, no sales call, and no status meeting. You fill in a form, we reply in writing, and everything from there happens by email and through a private preview link. If something is genuinely easier to show than to describe, we record a short video and send it to you.
What do I need to give you?
Accurate details about your services and your area, what you want visitors to do, your contact details, which pages you need, access to your domain if you have one, your logo, and any photos worth using. Then one person at your end to make the decisions. We write from what you give us — we cannot check claims you have not told us about, so what you send needs to be true.
What counts as one round of changes?
One list, sent after you have looked at the whole site with everyone who gets a say. It can fix anything we got wrong and reword or rearrange things within the pages we agreed. What it cannot do is add pages, add features, start the design again, or replace most of the copy — and it is one list, not a trickle over the following month.
What if I need an extra page or something connected up?
Tell us and we will look at it. A straightforward extra page is A$220, and connecting something you already use is usually A$250 to A$600 once we have seen it. Both get priced and approved before we start. Sometimes the honest answer is that what you are describing has outgrown this package, in which case we will say so.
What can I use the 20 minutes a month for?
Small things on the site you already have: changing some text, swapping a photo, updating your hours or your phone number, fixing a link. Not new pages, redesigns, integrations, a chunk of new copy, or a campaign. It is measured by how long the work takes, and it does not carry over to next month.
Who owns the domain and the site?
You do. Your domain, the words and photos you gave us, and your third-party accounts stay in your name — we will not register your domain under ours. The code for your site is handed over once the final payment clears. What stays ours is the reusable components and methods we bring to every job.
What if I want to stop paying monthly?
Give us 30 days' notice and it stops. The hosting, monitoring, patching, support, and change allowance stop with it, so you will need somewhere to host the site and someone to look after it. We will tell you in writing what you need to do and what it is likely to cost you. We are not going to sit on your domain to make leaving difficult.
Can you replace my existing website?
Often, yes. We will look at your current content, your domain access, your forms, and what needs redirecting. If your existing site has years of search history behind it, needs more than 10 redirects, or is a WordPress build somebody needs to keep maintaining, that may need an add-on, a separate job, or a different provider — we will tell you which.
Do I get analytics?
Not as part of the build. We do not install Google Analytics or any other tracking on the sites we make, and we do not run it on our own site either. Most tracking products set cookies, which drags a consent banner and a longer privacy notice onto a five-page site that did not need either. If you genuinely want visitor numbers, tell us in the fit check and we will talk about a privacy-friendly, cookieless option in an account registered to you — as an add-on, priced before we start. What we will not do is quietly bolt tracking onto your site and leave you to work out the obligations.
Can the form collect sensitive details?
No. The form is for ordinary contact and quote-request details — name, phone, email, what the job is. It must not ask for health information, ID documents, bank or card details, passwords, or anything regulated. If your business genuinely needs to collect that sort of thing, you need a different service with a proper security review behind it.
How fast do you answer support requests?
You will hear back within 2 business days on an ordinary request — that is when we reply, not necessarily when it is finished. If your site is down or your form has stopped emailing you, that jumps the queue and gets worked on straight away, though how fast it is fixed can depend on your host or email provider.
